Lake Plateliai

Tours in Lake Plateliai

Lake Plateliai is the largest lake in the Samogitia region and the 9th largest in Lithuania. Situated in the heart of Samogitia National Park, it spans 12 km², reaches depths of up to 47 meters, and features seven islands. Notably, one island hosts a castle known as Castle Island. Archaeologists have uncovered ruins, suggesting it might be the remains of Queen Bona's castle. Scientists believe that the water level was lower in the past, potentially concealing more secrets on underwater islands.

Lake Plateliai is renowned for its stunning natural surroundings, tranquil atmosphere, and hosts various events, including the "Nights of Rock" festival since 2002. It's also a favorite spot for athletes, with a 25-year tradition of hosting a marathon swim. Samogitia stands out as one of Lithuania's most captivating regions, offering a plethora of attractions. Embark on a tour with us and immerse yourself in the beauty of Samogitia's nature.
