Kemeri National Park, founded in 1997, is located next to the most popular resort city in the Baltics – Jurmala, Latvia. Kemeri is the third largest national park in the country. It covers an area of 381.65 km². Almost 60% of the territory is occupied by forests and 25% by bogs, and the most significant of them is The Great Kemeri Bog. The park also protects the famous natural mineral springs and muds, which were using for centuries because of their therapeutic nature. The springs led to developing many of resorts, spas, and sanatoriums in the 19th century. Healing mineral waters and muds found in Kemeri are used nowadays in health resorts located in Kemeri town nearby. You may think that all parks look the same, and they are not the places you should visit but definitely, it is the wrong attitude. In the park, you can find a concentration of country’s inseparable elements. The variety of different nature panoramas will make you surprised! Don’t miss the opportunity to Visit Jurmala, a resort city in Latvia and explore this fantastic environment in Kemeri National Park.
