Holy Trinity Cathedral

Liepāja is renowned as one of the most beautiful and famous cities for summer holidays. One must-see attraction is the Trinity Church, also known as Liepāja Holy Trinity Lutheran Cathedral. This historical Lutheran cathedral, located on the west coast of Latvia, was constructed in 1742 and solemnly consecrated on December 5, 1758.  

The church's interior and exterior showcase late Baroque style with some classical features. The captivating interior is adorned with wood carvings and gold plating. City residents particularly appreciate the unique altar, standing at a height of 13 meters. The cathedral is distinguished by its impressive organ, boasting 131 stops and more than 7000 pipes. When it was built in 1779, this organ was the largest in all of Latvia.  

Visitors can explore the cathedral on guided tours, including access to its 55-meter tower, providing panoramic views of Liepāja. Beyond its religious significance, the cathedral serves as a major venue for concerts and exhibitions, regularly hosting classical music concerts and art displays.
