Do you want some attractions? We have an offer! The Ethnographic Open-Air Museum of Latvia was established in 1924. It covers the territory of 87 hectares on the coast of Jugla Lake in Riga. It’s an exhibition of 118 folk architecture buildings, from the end of 17th century till the first half of 20th century, with the authentic interior. You will see farmsteads of Latvian peasants, craftsmen, and fishermen, wooden churches, and mills. You will find there tools and items of social life and interior equipment characteristic to a certain period of region, time and occupation of the former owner. This museum is a perfect place to get in touch with nature, traditions and our roots. Admit it, it’s hard to imagine how people were living without electricity, hot water, oven, and don’t even need to speak about the internet, TV, and other comfortabilities. Here you will be able to find out and learn about history and traditions, development of technologies, and experience the joy of dancing, singing and playing traditional music. We are sure that you will have a good time and meaningful day at the museum with your kids, family or friends. Come to visit Latvia, explore Ethnographic Open Air Museum in Riga and try out old crafts and taste traditional food. Get to know this culture, book a tour from Baltic Tours!
