Latvian Ethnographic Open-Air Museum

Tours in Latvian Ethnographic Open-Air Museum

The Ethnographic Open-Air Museum of Latvia was established in 1924, covering 87 hectares on the coast of Jugla Lake in Riga. Displaying 118 folk architecture buildings from the late 17th century to the first half of the 20th century, complete with authentic interiors, the museum showcases farmsteads of Latvian peasants, craftsmen, fishermen, wooden churches, and mills.

Explore tools, items of social life, and interior equipment specific to various periods, regions, and former owners' occupations. The museum offers a unique opportunity to connect with nature, traditions, and our roots. It's hard to imagine life without electricity, hot water, or modern conveniences like the internet and TV, but here you can learn about history, traditions, technological developments, and experience the joy of traditional dance, song, and music.

Bring your kids, family, or friends for a meaningful day at the museum. Visit Latvia, explore the Ethnographic Open-Air Museum in Riga, try your hand at old crafts, and savor traditional food. Immerse yourself in this rich culture by booking a tour with Baltic Tours!
