It’s time to visit Tallin, the capital city of Estonia. Here On Toompea Hill in the central part of Tallin, you will find a Toompea Castle, which was built during the 13th-14th centuries on the foundations of the fortress. There is a myth, saying that whole hill was made by Linda (woman from Estonian mythology), and Tallin was traditionally referred to as Lyndanisse, which means “The nipple of Linda”! Sounds hilarious! Later, in between the years of 1767 and 1773, its eye-catching facade was constructed in late Baroque style. Today the Toompea castle is home to the Riigikogu – the Estonian parliament. The Estonian national flag in colours of blue, black and white takes the most honoured place here. It can be seen flying on the top of 45 metres height Tall Hermann Tower as a symbol of Estonian Independence. Excursions around the castle are held every day from Monday to Friday, and it suggests a unique opportunity. Want to guess what it could be? For the most curious one, we will reveal that you can watch sessions of parliament from the public gallery. Would be interesting, no? Come to visit Tallin, and explore this charming capital city!
