The Independence Square is over 7 hectares big and proves to be one of the top attractions in Minsk. The square is located at the very heart of Belarus’ capital and includes quite a few interesting and important buildings of the city: the House of Government, the Minsk Executive Committee, Belarusian State University and more, so you will definitely have plenty of architectural monuments to explore. What is even more interesting, though, is that there is a huge shopping center underneath the square. Sounds like you are very not likely to get bored when visiting the Independence square!
Church of Saints Simon and Helena is one of Belarus’ most visited historical places in Minsk that has a unique history behind it. The church was built by a noble Belarusian family after a premature death of their two young children back in 1908-1910. Since then, the church became a symbol of unimaginable grief for those who died untimely. For some time it was used as a cinema and a film studio, but about 30 years ago, the church was given its original status back and holds services everyday at 7pm.
Trinity Suburb is situated in the city center on the bank of the Svisloch River and is one of the most beautiful places to visit in Minsk.
