It‘s a Neo-Renaissance style building in Palanga, Lithuania’s resort town. It is built for Lithuanian-Polish magnate family of Grand Duchy of Lithuania called Tiskeviciai (originally Tyszkiewicz). This amazing palace was completed in four years in the 19th century and is surrounded by a park with fountains and pounds. Lithuanians are proud of this place and all its original nature. When the most favorite season of summer begins, Tiskevicius palace attracts a lot of people. It’s a popular visiting place also for all Lithuanians, who are coming here to enjoy the colorful nature during the bike tour (territory is too big to walk everywhere around). Since the year of 1963 Palanga Amber Museum was founded here. This museum owns a collection of about 28.000 amber pieces and 15.000 of them have inclusions of insects, spiders and plants. This great exhibition holds the third largest amber specimen in Europe. The weight of this “Sun Stone” is more than 3,5kg. It has such a big value that scammers tried to steal it twice. Happily, it came back to its place. Many of the items in this collection are jewelry or artworks from amber. Also, you will see cultural and artistic exhibition part which include 15th-century ring, a 16th-century cross and other items from the past four centuries.
